@cherylmiz Regular white vinegar is more acidic and less sweet. For this recipe you can just use 1/2 tsp of regular va mixed with 1/2 tsp of water :)

@mrzfebo Yes – it should be as long as you use the same amt of chicken in the same size wok. If you double the recipe or have a smaller wok; then cook the chicken in batches :)

This looks great- I’m going to try it this weekend! Can regular vinegar substitute the rice vinegar or are the flavors too different?

Anytime a liquid hits hot oil it will jump and splash. The marinade here usually soaks into the chicken and doesn’t splash too much, but I forgot to add that I usually rinse and pat the chicken dry before I actually cut it into pieces. If there was excess water on it before adding the marinade it could have caused this too. Thanks for writing and watching :)

I made this yesterday and it was very yummy. However, when I put the chicken in my cooking pan, the oil started jumping and splashing all over… does anybody know if that is because of hte marinade still on the chicken…?

what kind of soy sauce do you use? thank you!

  24. 24 AsianCookingmadeEasy said at 6:59 am on November 7th, 2010:

You can leave it out and it works fine :)
