This guy is a Chef???? The most important thing is how the schnizel is prepared…. BEFORE FRYING!!! And my father would cut my balls off if I fried anything in olive oil…..

@BABBCOM Yes, an example of why America is seen as so ignorant. This is not a country fried steak, he doesn’t even discuss how it is seasoned/prepared. A country fried steak is something you can get at iHop.

I’ve yet to taste an AUTHENTIC weiner schnitzel in the U.S. and the best I’ve had are from northern Germany and Austria.

@hbilly Why? I mean why in clarified butter only?

Thanks! I have been experimenting with butter and oil, different temperatures, cooking times, etc… My schnitzels always turn out soggy, burned or otherwise unpleasant. I’ll see now if I can replicate this :) (Btw, butter seems to always fuck up a breaded cutlet no matter of temperature or cooking time. Which makes me sad because I reallyreally like butter :) )

Oh Man,If you tell this some austrian or german guy,
that you cook the wiener schnitzel in olive oil,
there will you some not very nice names.
Because schnitzel must be cooed in ghee.

That’s weird in The US we have a fast food restraunt called Weiner Schnitzel and it serves Hot Dogs. Americans know what I’m talking about. I always thought Weiner Schnitzel meant Hot Dog in German. Hey you learn something every day. I like country fried steak. Looks good.

Olive oil? Are you guys for real? Try that in Germany or Austria and they will chase you with pitchforks and torches. Schnitzel should only be fried in Butterschmalz (clarified butter).
